About Local 536

Who We Are

BPFFA Local 536 is the certified bargaining unit representing the professional firefighters of the City of Brockville, Ontario. We are affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association (OPFFA), the provincial body that advocates for the rights, health, and safety of firefighters across Ontario.

Brockville Fire Department

Our members serve the residents of Brockville through the Brockville Fire Department. The department protects a community of 21,000+ residents and operates from two fire stations, providing around-the-clock professional fire suppression, emergency medical response, technical rescue, and public education services.

Our Affiliations

As members of the IAFF, Local 536 is part of a North American brotherhood and sisterhood of professional firefighters with a proud history of labour advocacy, occupational health research, and community service.

Through the OPFFA, we work alongside other Ontario locals to advance provincial legislation and standards that protect both firefighters and the public we serve.
